Arachidonyl alcohol is a long-chain primary fatty alcohol. Arachidonyl alcohol is used as a substrate for the production of several ether lipids possessing beneficial functions^[1]. A new strain, Acinetobacter species N-476-2, can effectively convert arachidonic acid to arachidonyl alcohol^[1].
